Showcasing local artists alongside artists from across Australia, the annual Blacktown City Art Exhibition features paintings, watercolours, works on paper and sculptures. It also features artwork by children and young people exploring environmental themes.
Now in its fourteenth year, the annual art prize has grown in popularity and reputation to become the most prominent art prize in Western Sydney. All artworks are for sale, providing an opportunity to purchase original works by artists from across Australia.

ARTS MARKET :: 10am-3pm Saturday 10 October 2009
During the 2009 Blacktown City Art Exhibition, Western Sydney artists and designers showcase their creative talent in the annual Arts Market. Featuring original paintings and sculptures as well as handmade jewellery and textiles, the Arts Market is a unique opportunity to see and buy locally made contemporary art and design products.
During the 2009 Blacktown City Art Exhibition, Western Sydney artists and designers showcase their creative talent in the annual Arts Market. Featuring original paintings and sculptures as well as handmade jewellery and textiles, the Arts Market is a unique opportunity to see and buy locally made contemporary art and design products.
The Arts Market is a pilot project for Council and is being trialled as part of wider plans to provide ongoing economic opportunities to local artists. Stallholder expressions of interest forms will be available on the Arts Centre website in August.
CHILDREN'S WORKSHOPS
Children's visual art workshops will be held during the October school holidays focussing on themes and techniques from the 2009 Blacktown City Art Exhibition.
