GET YOUR APPLICATION FORM FOR THE 2012 RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Blacktown Arts Centre invites artists to submit expressions of interest for its Performing Arts Residency Program. This is part of Blacktown City Council's commitment to developing the creative talent of the artists of Western Sydney.

The Performing Arts Residency Program aims to provide professional development opportunities for individuals or small groups of artists in the development, experimentation and mentorship of new works.

A budget of up to $5,000 has been allocated to each residency for artist fees, mentoring fees and production costs. Typical residencies will run between 2 to 3 weeks and artists will have use of the BAC performance studio and access to a range of facilities and services during this period.

INDUSTRY MENTOR
It is an aim of the residency to provide professional development opportunities for artists. Applicants are required to nominiate and link with an industry mentor as part of the residency. Hours of mentorship are determined by the nature of each project.

PERFORMANCE CATEGORIES
All performance areas including music, theatre, dance and cross-art form practices and writing for a performance are eligible for the residency program. At least one residency will be reserved for music.
